The ARRI/Fujinon Alura Studio Zoom 45-250mm T2.6 is the telephoto zoom of the Alura Studio Zoom family — the result of a collaboration between ARRI and Fujinon to create a family of modern cinema zooms combining the highest optical performance with an exceptionally competitive size, weight, and price. Designed as the natural and inseparable companion to the Alura 18-80mm — with which it shares construction, ergonomics, colour, and optical character —, the 45-250mm covers the most widely used telephoto focal range in professional productions with a constant aperture of T2.6 throughout its entire zoom range, with absolutely no exposure ramping. Together, the 18-80mm and the 45-250mm form the most complete and versatile Alura zoom system — two lenses that cover continuously and coherently from 18mm all the way to 250mm with identical look, identical colour, and absolutely consistent optical character.
Its optical performance is outstanding for its class: high resolution and contrast, even field illumination across the full focal and focus range, reduced chromatic aberration through the use of extraordinary dispersion glass, minimised focus breathing, and Fujinon’s EBC multi-layer coating for a dramatic reduction of flares, ghosts, and veiling glare. Its 9-blade iris produces a rounded, soft, and especially enveloping bokeh in the telephoto range. PL mount. Super 35 coverage — optimised for the ARRI ALEXA 2K 16:9 format. 134mm front diameter. Focus scales engraved on both sides of the barrel. Minimum focus distance: 1.0m.
Perfect for: cinematographers seeking the most versatile and efficient telephoto zoom in the ARRI Super 35 system — constant T2.6, high resolution and contrast, 9-blade organic bokeh, and perfect colour compatibility with ARRI prime lenses —, as the natural companion to the Alura 18-80mm or as the primary zoom for feature films, series, commercials, documentaries, and any production where the versatility of the 45-250mm range, speed, and optical coherence with the rest of the ARRI system are the top priorities.
