The ARRI Signature Prime lenses are ARRI’s flagship Full Frame spherical prime lenses, designed from the ground up for the large-format sensor era and conceived as ARRI’s definitive answer to the demands of modern film and television in terms of coverage, speed, optical performance, and ergonomics. With a constant T1.8 aperture across the majority of focal lengths and a completely new optical design, the Signature Primes deliver the perfect balance between modern cinematic image quality — sharp, three-dimensional, and high-contrast at full aperture — and the organic softness characteristic of ARRI’s visual language: exceptional bokeh, very smooth focus transitions, and a rendition of skin tones and midtones that is always natural and never harsh. With an image circle covering large-format sensors including the ARRI ALEXA LF, ALEXA Mini LF, and the ALEXA 65, they are the natural choice for any production shooting in LF or VistaVision.
The Signature Primes are also the first ARRI cinema lens to feature the third-generation /i Technology lens metadata system — known as LPL /i —, which transmits lens data frame by frame in real time directly to the camera and production data systems, making them an essential tool for VFX, Virtual Production, and advanced digital post-production workflows. Their native mount is ARRI’s new LPL (Large Positive Lock) mount — with a larger light passage diameter and shorter flange distance than the PL mount —, though they are supplied with the LPL-PL adapter included for use with PL cameras. Uniform 95mm front diameter across the full set, modular construction, ergonomics optimised for handheld and Steadicam operation, and full colour matching between all focal lengths in the set.
Perfect for: cinematographers seeking the ultimate expression of ARRI’s visual language in Full Frame and Large Format — constant T1.8, full LF coverage, 15-blade iris, latest-generation /i metadata, and reference ergonomics for handheld and Steadicam —, for any high-end production shooting on ALEXA LF, ALEXA Mini LF, or ALEXA 65.
