Launched in 2010 in response to the growing demand for versatile cinema optics for the HDSLR camera market, they are based on the same ZE\/ZF glass Zeiss uses in its still photography lenses, given a fully cinematic mechanical construction for the occasion. They deliver the unmistakable visual character of Zeiss glass: characteristic sharpness, precise contrast, natural and saturated colours, and a highly pronounced three-dimensionality, in a compact format with interchangeable mount that makes them compatible with virtually any camera on the market. <strong>Full Frame<\/strong> coverage across all focal lengths, including large-format sensors such as the RED Dragon 6K and 8K.<\/p>\n<p>The set includes focal lengths in two aperture versions: the standard focal lengths at <strong>T2.1<\/strong> and the three classic Super Speed lenses \u2014 35, 50, and 85mm \u2014 at <strong>T1.5<\/strong>, which share the same optical design as the legendary Zeiss Super Speed lenses from the 1970s and 80s. Their <strong>114mm front diameter<\/strong> is uniform across the full set, with <strong>300\u00b0 of focus rotation<\/strong>, focus and iris gears in identical positions across all focal lengths, and focus scales engraved on both sides of the barrel. The <strong>14-blade<\/strong> iris guarantees smooth, circular bokeh at any aperture.
